  • For me, the music that probably best describes my personality might be Couperin's Tic Toc Choc!

Here is my performance of the delightful piece. I would say that I am a pretty energetic, and exuberant person!

Dominic Cheli You are definitely a super energetic and FUN person!  In fact, I would have picked this piece for you, if you hadn't already posted it, LOL!😄

  • I’d say Montagues and Capuletti from Romeo and Juliette suite by Prokofiev and also the Waltz from Masquerade 🤷‍♀️

    • Gail Starr me too, both pieces have certain dose of extravagance and decadence inside, I find that quite resonating with me.

Aleksandra Bogomaz I don't know about you, but I always seem to have music playing "in my head" when I am doing chores or walking around.  These are 2 of the pieces that have been on my "interior playlist" since I was a kid. 😂

Hmmm. It would probably be Beethoven's Hammerklavier: challenging to get to know, intense, complicated, with an undercurrent of (usually misunderstood) humour.... 😉

It is a great question! It requires some thought - indeed! Hmmmmm.

I would say Edvard Grieg's "Morning": at the beginning, 1 minute 20 seconds - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x463zoWpiVI.

  • I am comfortable with Chopin Nocturne op.27 #1 &2 , Brahms intermezzi ballade and Romanze .

    your Couperin is wonderful Dominic.

  • For songs, first place for me is "A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd.  For non-vocal music, Brahms' 2nd Piano Concerto is my favorite.

Robert Lind I miss Sondheim!  There's never been anyone quite like him.  I love the classical twists that Anthony de Mare has brought to his music.  Do you know Liaisons?

    • Gail Starr I hadn't heard of de Mare until today.  Now I'm hooked.  Thanks for the tip.

Robert Lind I would love to learn some of his transcriptions someday.  Got too many other things on my plate at the moment, though!  So glad you like his work

  • Selections from Rachmaninoff Etudes-Tableaux - specifically Op. 39#8, or Op. 33#4. But others as well. And then find myself getting sucked into another one - all the while thinking, "...seriously, you want to work that hard again?!" Apparently.

I can't stay away from Rachmaninoff, so there must be some strong affinity. And yes - beautiful Couperin!
