Bach Goldberg variations.
I can get through the notes for most variations but am a long way from playing at speed and with proper voicing. Some of the "2 manual" variations present the most challenge.
Brett Gilbert happy that you can join our Goldberg Variations Challenge :)
Chopin Ballade 4, but could be difficult for the general audiance to enjoy.
cleepotis I don't think so! This is music of such beauty probably most people would enjoy!
I have many on my dream list...
Chopin: Ballade #4
Schubert: Wanderer Fantasy
Liszt: Mephisto Waltz
Brahms: Handel Variations
Rach: Concerto #2
Liebermann: Gargoyles
Kevin McGill I am a fan of everything you wrote - particularly I have a soft spot for Gargoyles. love it!
A lot! to pick one, I would say, Islamey by Balakirev.
Heng-Pin Chen Picking one of the hardest pieces ever - WOW!
Stravinsky鈥檚 Three Movements from Petrouchka. Absolutely a dream!
Bruno de Lorenzo Incredible! Would love to hear you play it! You play so well!
Chopin Ballades
Enida Cami Some of the best repertoire!
For my case, Mendelssohn's piano concerto no 1 in G minor.
Daniel Chong Wonderful- that piece has such fun in it! Also lots of Beethoven 5th symphony's fate motive interspersed :)
Chopin piano concerto no.1 in E minor
Luis Davalos Marvelous! I adore the secondary theme of the 1st movement so much!
Many, but for the sake of answering this question: the first movement of Schubert's Sonata in G Major, D. 894. I'd like to play the first movement in 24-27 minutes (a la Richter or Afanassiev), but with such a sense of pulse and ravishing tone that the listener is riveted to the very end.
Daniel Amazing that you are working on such a musically complex, yet satisfying piece. I would love to hear you play it. I can tell you have the right attitude and approach already based off of who you enjoy listening to!
Chopin's Revolutionary Etude (Op 10, No 12)...and so many others
Colin Have you had a chance to look at the Chopin etude? Hope you are enjoying it!
Dominic Cheli , Hi Dominic, thanks for the text. I鈥檓 impressed that you can find the time to make 1:1 contact with all your other commitments.
I鈥檓 not there yet! I鈥檓 working on the Fantasie-Impromptu but slowly. I have a long way to go.
I鈥檓 loving your live streams, BTW. I can鈥檛 attend these live as I鈥檓 in Australia but they鈥檙e always a treat to watch. I actively look out for them. Your series of videos on Brahms, for example, has been most enlightening and enjoyable. I didn鈥檛 appreciate Brahms before watching them.
Colin
Liszts Gallop chromatique. I just turned 40. Lol
