Here’s the first Graceful Waltz, Op 91. Not my first attempt to record it I admit.

I’ll try to post some more over the weekend but I’ve made a start! Looking forward to listening to all the new postings as well.

Angela Fogg So lovely, Angela! I enjoyed your tempo and the lightness with which you played it. Thank you for sharing!

      Vidhya Bashyam thank you Vidhya.

Wonderful to hear you are playing the Bb Sonata. I think those last Schubert sonatas are just incredible, for me some of the best repertoire for piano and I have a particular soft spot for the Bb one.

Hello everyone! Have had my sight reading session today of Schubert op. 33. I have to say, this is not my favorite composer, but I had fun with sight reading.
Wish you all a nice weekend. 🙋‍♀️

Kerstin Amazing piece you are learning! Can’t wait to hear it! Right now I am mainly learning more Schubert actually- the B flat Major sonata.

Vidhya Bashyam Hi Vidhya! Would like to hear your Schubert. Have no idea how it sounds. This Brahms is more difficult than I thought in the first place, but it is a fantastic piece - and long. I have started with the last movement. https://youtu.be/HEGKEG9ynJo?si=rhsdgOXJZIt4m9Y6
      Hear you. 🙋‍♀️

Sachi Thanks Sachi and yes it is a Grotrian-Steinweg. The keys don‘t react very light, but the sound is beautiful. I love it. I have also a digital Piano- it’s the other way. 😅

What is the piano your are playing?

Kerstin Grotrian-Steinweg piano, my GS piano finally arrived this April after waiting for half a year. I started practicing 40 years old Yamaha, then upgraded to used but quite new Schimmel. It was disappointment… Silent system (not original Schimmel) affected mechanical action. So I decided to sell it, visited a few piano retailers and found GS. Long story, but I really appreciate how it sounds and responds with sweetness. I used to have digital piano. At the moment I don’t… I hope I can continue practicing with GS.

Sachi Great! Understand. My digital piano is only for practicing in the late evening or morning. Otherwise I always use my GS. 👍

I’ve never really taken much interest in these pieces before despite having played a lot of Schubert so they are just a delightful revelation for me. Thank you everyone!
