  • Here is my final video! I'm so happy to have participated in this challenge, it's been a GREAT experience! I almost felt like a student again, witch is something I have missed.  Thank you Dominic ! And everyone else! Already looking forward to the next one!

This week I've worked on what I like to call "The extended version" that is the version Dominic played. It has some added parts and ornaments.

What I found easy was practicing the new parts, because it was so enjoyable!

What I found challenging was trying to make a perfect recording. It is 10 minutes of music, and some nerves did sneak in on the trickier parts.

Overall I'm satisfied with the performance :)

Sindre Skarelven Thanks for the reply Sindre. Really interesting to hear about your musical background. You are clearly a very well rounded and skilled musician and it’s nice to have an insight as to where that comes from. I have a life long interest in music which has mainly been based around contemporary rock & pop stuff. My interest in classical has grown from starting to learn the piano. Now having the time following early retirement it has become my main hobby. I find it very challenging but also very rewarding and I am certainly having a good time with it thanks! Good luck with the YouTube channel. Let me know when it’s up and running as I would definitely like to check it out.

    Hello everyone!

    Final video of week3

What a wonderful experience! I am willing to participate in next challenges.

It has been difficult to make a video of the whole piece without mistakes, a real challenge!

One thing is to practice this or that section and another to play from the beginning to the end...

As Sindre says: already looking forward to the next one!

Dominic Cheli I watched Jeffrey Biegel's super video about octaves, and you both had the same suggestion about using the weight of the arm more.  I'll keep at it! Fingers crossed.

  • This has been amazing ! I have loved listening to everyone . Thank you !

I won’t bore you all with a video but I have been able to memorize (still shaky) the first waltz using Dominic’s memorization techniques . This is an achievement for me as I haven’t been able to memorize any music since childhood and I’m as old as dirt ! This memory stuff has been like a new toy for me , better than doing the crossword or playing some game on the phone ! Thanks Dominic !

mariannejhampton Congratulations on memorizing a section!  That's not a skill I've been able to achieve yet even though Dominic's livestream was incredibly helpful.   Don't be shy about posting a video (if you want), I'd love to see it!

    • mariannejhampton Great to hear you are enjoying the memorization! Nice to have some of Dominic's techniques up your sleeve :) I agree with Brett, feel free to post a video, would've loved to watch that!
