Alright everyone - this is the thread where we'll all be posting our daily updates.

Post your progress on your pieces! If you are able to perform or play through sections of your music, share it with us! Let's celebrate your hard work during this past month!
We will have a watch party featuring your recordings that you upload down below on this thread, but if you would like to play LIVE please considering joining the "back to school" recital!

Alberto lovely! Those two pieces put a big smile on my face just now; really charming. The tempi you chose for each of them are brisker than what I'm used to hearing, and you have just the right color, phrasing and ornamentation to match them. It all fits together beautifully.

Alberto Beautiful ornaments! With these minuets you do have the option of a brisker tempo as they weren't necessarily composed for dancing, and you made it work nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Here is where I got with the Rachmaninov prelude Op.23 no 4. My goal for this challenge was to learn it, have it memorized and get a decent recording (along with the Mazurka i posted in week 2).
I chose this piece because I feel I have something unfinished with Rachmaninov, and this being a Rachmaninov year, I really wanted to learn this piece!
I had to spend a little more time on fingerings then usual with this piece, to get it to feel right in the hands. And the flowing nature of this piece needs more maturing. The last section in particular was mostly about remembering the notes for this recording.
I must say it's a joy to play, and I'm looking forward to work more on it!

Sindre Skarelven Bravo! Beautiful playing of this touching piece! You brought all of Rachmaninov’s layers and color to life. Love how you increased the emotional intensity without increasing the drama or losing the contemplative mood. Looking forward to hearing it more!

Sindre Skarelven heavenly! My first time hearing it was on Vladimir Ashkenazy's recording with all the preludes, and I immediately fell in love with the sense of absolute peace and serenity and suspended time he creates in this piece. Your playing has a similar stillness and quietness; just beautiful.

Sindre Skarelven very moving! I particularly like the first section: your RH sings beautifully with the LH gently sway in the background. Though it's a pretty slow tempo but you keep the pace moving and carry the calm without it at all sounding sluggish ... which is hard to do. Very well done. I enjoy it very much

Sindre Skarelven This is absolutely gorgeous, Sindre! There was so much emotion, but as Vidhya said, you didn't lose the feeling of meditation even as the intensity increased. Bravo! I look forward to hearing it again!
