Re: How long do you practice, and how?
I don't really practice for a specific amount of time, but my teacher recommends 3-4 hours. I generally start with Hanon exercises and many scales/variations on scales. Next, I work on pieces.…

Re: How Do You Record Your Acoustic Piano?
@Dustin Anderson Mine does have an XLR cable. I do have an audio interface, but I just checked and it only has one channel. I guess I will have to get a different one, if I switch to stereo recording.…

@Noel Nguyen So I assume I could just get another of what I have? @Larry K My microphone is cardioid, I think.

Re: Summer Community Concert
I plan to participate. I will either play a Chopin waltz, the Mozart Sonata movement I wasn't able to perform in the Mozart challenge, or potentially the Wandererfantasie!

Re: Week 4: Share It
It would be helpful if someone made a list of words that will get flagged. I have been "pending review" (and completely locked out of Tonebase as a result) before and could not think of any reason…

@Larry K I actually figured out a setup that worked soon after posting that, but I will probably upgrade to a stereo setup at some point.

Re: Summer Community Concert
@Michelle R Oh, great! If you are not ready to learn Gretchen am Spinnrade, I imagine that you are also probably not ready for Erlkönig as it is quite hard! Das Wandern and Die Forelle are easier.

Re: Summer Community Concert
@Michelle R In terms of Schubert Lieder, I recommend Die Forelle, Gretchen Am Spinnrade, and Das Wandern. Erlkönig is harder to sing, but it has a challenging piano part!

@STEFAN SCHAUFLER I used to own a Yamaha digital, too. I definitely agree that they are not comparable to acoustic pianos. I have a Seiler 132 upright, but those are probably outside your price range,…
