I'm an enthusiastic hobbyist who started rather late at the age of ~40 (with some very big gaps of inactivity). I couldn't read a note before then. I've had some great teachers (and some not so great ones), but I'm mostly self-taught. I've always worked on mid-to-upper intermediate pieces, but I'm currently trying to go back to advanced beginner work and get a more solid footing in the fundamentals to improve both my reading and my technique (while still working on the more advanced pieces that I love). I really admire what Tonebase is trying to do. May it live long and prosper!
