There is an interesting tonebase lesson that is relevant to this and I found worthwhile.  He briefly mentions Hanon exercises and I'm curious Dominic about your recommendations for how to practice/improve technique in specific areas such as double-notes.  I always avoided Hanon and just liked to play "real" pieces, but maybe there is value in repetitive exercises?
