Schubert op90 or 142?
I love both of these terrific sets of Impromptus. Which to play/perform? I’m leaning toward op90 right now because of the lovely and accessible tunes. I’m a sucker for the tunes every time. Thoughts? Opinions? About the settings, styles?

I adore Opus 90. I’ve played all four impromptus, and I couldn’t tell you which one is my favorite. One consideration is where you plan to perform. If it’s for a general audience, Opus 90 is a winner for sure. I’ve heard a retired professional pianist perform these all together for a lay audience, and I’ve heard a Professional competition participant play them as a set as well. They are such a treat, and just a pleasure to practice. Enjoy!

Definitely the opus 90. The impromptu in G flat is just sublime.
