"Auf die Welt"
Hi, this was a test recording we did to decide over the instrument and room for recording an album. Not my composition, i'm the sound engineer and got permission to share. It's a song about how we don't decide the circumstances we're born in.
What i find fascinating are those hovering tones, can you hear them? They emerged on their own, i think it's sympathetic resonance. In this recording you only hear the two M221s in the middle above the sound board. The Piano itself is a remarkably well maintained and set up Steinway A (1976 i believe). The room counting 110 places in concert-seating is part of a building that was built around 1430!
Being an early stage in a piano solo configuration, for the album most songs will have a band arrangement with double bass, drums, strings, horn, some melodica ... authentic and she has a message. That is if you understand german but i put a translation below. So here it is for you to enjoy, hope you like it: "Auf Die Welt" piano & vocals by Laura Braun.

Into This World
I come into this world with a smiling face —
not mine, but hers.
I come into this world, not knowing what’s happening to me,
while someone’s still lying right beside me.
I come into this world, not knowing what I like —
they give me ideas, and they give me money.
I come into this world, I’m still here —
and I owe it all to her.
I’m in this world, searching for kindred minds,
with the same ideas, the same tangled designs.
I’m in this world, where I like to be,
’cause I was able to find them —
'I was able to find them.
I’m in this world, I’ve got everything I need,
and plenty more than that.
I’m in this world, first i didn’t know why I was here,
but somehow you figure it out.
I’m in this world where I like to be —
’cause I’ve been lucky.
You come into this world with tears on the face —
not on yours, but on hers.
You come into this world, not knowing what’s happening to you,
while everything before you lies in ruins.
You come into this world, not knowing what you like —
and you’ll never find out.
You come into this world, you’re still here —
and you owe that only to yourself.
You’re in this world, looking for like-minded souls,
but you’re not of one mind — and you can’t find any.
Still, better than being alone — someone will do.
