Many of us have been told that in order to have a great performance we should memorize our pieces. But what if our busy schedules don't permit us enough time to do that? Or maybe we want to play ALOT of repertoire rather than just one piece. Perhaps even, we have anxiety due to the fear of memory slips. FEAR NOT! It is possible to have a GREAT performance with a score in front of us! But, certain considerations have to be made when using a score, so lets talk about tips/tricks/advice to give your best performance from any stage!

For digital score i am using Henle Library app. It is quite good already.  Any suggestions on app with really good page turn features? You know, it is very anxious when the page turning comes!

  • Looking forward to seeing this Live (later on in the day, due to my time zone). It's a very useful topic as I play from the printed score most of the time and need to spend time planning and rehearsing just the page turns!

    Excellent lesson!

Focus on the essentials to maximize one's performance. You highlighted many of the factors involved in making the decision to use the score or play from memory or a hybrid. I liked the way you emphasized that you will do whatever it takes to produce the best performance.

    Balance all the criteria.

    Thank you, Dominic!
