Beginners Courses, Please!

Hi

I just started my 14 days trial on Tonebase Piano. But the suggested courses seem too advanced for me. Do you have courses for beginners that start from the basics and work on the foundations of playing piano (like those in Tonebase Guitar)? I tried the search option but couldn't find what I was looking for.

The Pillars of Piano Technique is a good series of videos. It's about the physical aspects of playing. I find ToneBase assumes some basic music reading ability. I have also requested that there be outlines and guides created by the staff to help novice players navigate the site's materials. I decided to join for a year, but may discontinue if the staff of the service do not add more repertoire lessons and organize the material in an effective manner through expert curated outlines, schedules, guides to navigate the included material.

  • Thank you, David.

Maybe this platform is not for everybody. I'm totally lost here.

  • I looked at this programme 3 years ago and walked away scratching my head. I found it is by no means for beginners (in my opinion). I went away and did 2 years of Piano Marvel. Now I am back and coping. I have now bought a lifetime membership and am concentrating on this alone.

    • Zilpa van der Gragt Greetings, I also scratched my head and still am. I just recently got invited to join the lifetime membership for a what I consider a lifetime investment and highly discounted price. I been a musician for 40 years and still learning. I hope tonebase will improve significantly in the near future but I have doubts they seem not to know in which direction to go. It must be very challenging to run such enterprise. Right now am re-learning my piano technique or lack thereof. The Taubman Approach by Robert Durso is fenomemal and if that was all I got out tonebase I would consider that a good use of my time and money. I have already made significant progress. My best wishes to you in your musical journey.

  • I just would like chime in and say thank you for what you have put together in tonebase central. I am certain that you are aware that no curated collection of pieces is complete without the master of Baroque. Please assemble a world class course of J.S. Bach Short Preludes (BWV 924-999) and the six (BWV 933-938) preferably taught by a qualified Baroque performer or even Mr. Robert Durso himself. THANKS 🙏
