    Hi, Dominic,

My question has to do with playing soft notes, particularly with the left hand fifth finger after leaps.
For example - Liszt Consolation No. 3 or the first page of Rach Prelude Op. 23 No. 4 in D major.
I try to leave the note before the jump as soon as I can and to get to the note jumped to "early" if possible.
I've tried practicing doing the jump to the note that needs to be played but not actually sounding it.
But it isn't consistent when I play.
    I find myself either
    1. hitting the note jumped "from" too hard in anticipation of the jump
    2. hitting the note jumped to too hard
    3. ghosting the note jumped to - so it doesn't sound at all.
    Any magic practice tips?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dominic,

I have questions about the Mozart piano quartet in general K478 movement 1, on the finger-twisting long passage runs.

How to phrase it better: bar 38-45

the most difficult part of 202-205 is bar 204 where he changes the note on every beat.

the final stretch bar239 -246 how to synchronize both hands to be exact.

    thank you.  Priscilla

    Hi Dominic,

Do you mind going over the tricky passages of the BWV 1052 3rd movement I posted the other week with Jarred Dunn? Also what is the tempo you personally play in this movement?

    Hi Dominic,

Would be very helpful to get tips for Rachmaninoff Elegie middle section. Right hand causes problems!

Are there any courses, videos, books, or exercises that teach how to shift the left hand by one or two octaves at a time without looking at the keyboard.   And when doing so, what should you focus on in the chord to guide your hand placement — the thumb or the index finger?

Hi Dominic, when I focus on the right-hand melody in the opening of Chopin barcarolle , the left-hand pinky often misses the bass notes. How can I fix this? Also, how can I naturally express the shift from strong to soft and from fast to slow in this phrase?

Hi Dominic, Chopin Scherzo 2, Paderewski, M 65 to 79, and M 90 to 94, trouble mastering this to tempo, and also without tension in left hand. Fumble on 1 or 2 notes. Any tips?

Hi Dominic, question about Mozart sonata KV 280 1st movement.  Not a particularly demanding work but m. 18-22 are surpisingly awkward to navigate despite checking multiple editions’ suggested fingering for insight.  Any advice for a something that feels natural and also helps the passage avoid sounding all over the place / chaotic?

    Hello !

Beethoven Sonata 21 Waldstein op.53, Rondò and Prestissimo mov.

Can you show me how to handle the melody and trill together on the same note not to create a gap in the melody? For example, bars 339, 343, 487, 491, etc.

And how to approach double trills plus other notes in bars 513-514.

    Ciao! 🌞😎✌🏻

    Hello Dominic,

I have two questions on Bach's D Major Fugue (No. 5) from WTC I.

    1) Any tips on how I could practice bars 20-21, the sections where my playing often falls apart? I struggle to consistently play the 32nd notes in the left hand with accuracy and musicality. I've tried practicing slowing down, staccato, dotted rhythms.

    2) Any advice on how to think about "shaping" this fugue and playing it musically? I try to let the subject (the 32nd notes) stand out but would love your thoughts how what you might want a student to think about as they play this piece musically.

    As always, thank you!
