Chopin Prelude in C Minor.
Hi All!
First post and first question. In Bar 2 of Chopin's Prelude in C Minor, the third chord (with Eb in the root) seems nearly impossible to play with the right hand. I have a 10 note finger span yet can't play it without tension and difficulties. I suppose the question is, how do you play it?! Any advice would be much welcomed!
Best,
Charlie

Hi Charlie !
You must take both the Db and Eb with the thumb. Just lay it sideways :)

Sindre Skarelven Charlie Collinson Exactly as Sindre says! The Thumb is surprisingly versatile and composers knew this. Often Chopin, writes chords like this but expects the thumb to act exactly in this manner.
Thanks Sindre for your quick response!
