Daniel's Practice Diary

Hello everyone, I am currently working on my Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) for performance

My recital consists of

(1) Bach's Prelude and Fugue in B minor, BWV 893

A lot of practice and careful analysis required for the fugue.

Extra Careful on the fingerings

Missing stylistic touch for baroque period

Need to increase the speed

(2) Mozart's Sonata in D major, K576

Stylistic problem again, too aggressive on the touch

Lack of attention to details on the articulation

Inconsistencies in speed

(3) Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses

Differentiate the dynamics instead of all forte

Careful on the fugue section

(4) Ravel's Sonatine

Better put alot more effort in this as 2nd and 3rd movement are both untouched.

Action Plan

Finish learning Ravel's Sonatine

Put in more effort in Bach's prelude and fugue

Maintain Mozart's sonata and Mendelssohn's variations the way it is for now.

Seems that you have a good plan and ideas for what's needed to work on! Good luck with it! When is the recital?

Sindre Skarelven 😄 It was suppose to be on March, but I think I have to delay it because It is still alot of work. For me Ravel's harmony is too foreign for me, took me alot longer to learn it.
