Performance Mindset and Mental Preparation with Oliver Herbert
In this livestream, we will embark on a journey through one of the most popular and mysterious facets in all of music making: the idea of mental preparation and performance mindset.
Whether we are playing for our family or friends at home , or a recital at Carnegie Hall , we all, at some point, must make the bridge from practicing to performing. But what has to happen? How can we prepare our nerves? What kind of exercises can we do mentally to give us the biggest chance at success?
Join in as we explore all this with cellist Oliver Herbert , one of the most celebrated cellists of his generation. This livestream is not instrument-specific, and we welcome all users across all platforms
Don't forget to bring your questions! Get ready to dive deep into the secrets of mental preparation and performance mindset. It's going to be a musical adventure you won't want to miss!

Really looking forward to this livestream!! I am scheduled to take my Royal Conservatory of Music piano exam (Prep B level) this afternoon at 2:30pm PST. Hoping to learn how to prevent nerves from causing my memory to completely "blank out" in the middle of my repertoire pieces during the testing (something that happened to me in the middle of one of my memorized repertoire pieces during my Prep A exam)!
