It is a rare privilege to have someone at your level of accomplishment share his knowledge. Most of the practice advice focuses on slow accurate practice of material such as Kreutzer, and scales/arpeggios with slow increases in tempo. What is the next step to achieve more brilliant virtuosity ? Is it the extension of these tools to a very rapid tempo or other materials needed such as Paganini caprices. How does one make the transition from very good advanced player to a more virtuoso player in terms of technique and tone? I am purosely not including interpretive lements in this question.
