I have recently been including little bits of improvising into my students' lessons to help give them a context for scales as we are learning them. I also have students who are siblings improvise together at home and those that do so have developed better rhythm, a better ear, and more ideas when we are working on something creative. I, unfortunately don't have any experience improvising myself and so I only work with them on the very basics of improvising so I would love to learn more and incorporate it into my own practice.

That was a fun session to watch. She mentioned how so many jazz chord progressions feature ii V I.
This week I was examining Bach's Well Tempered Clavier Prelude in C Major and what does it start with but...the same ii V I. These ideas aren't too far off.
I'd love to hear Nancy use that piece as a starting point!
