Wade's Practice Diary

Today I practiced Bach's Toccata in C minor, BWV 911, Mozart's Sonata in C major, K. 330, Alkan's Le festin d'Ésope, Op. 39, No. 12, and Ballard's A City of Silver.

Today was more of a general overview and review. Some of these pieces are new, and the others I played several years ago.

I'm preparing them for pre-screening recordings and auditions.

Wade Meyers Wow Wade, that's awesome! What a great set of pieces. I play the C minor toccata frequently too. Where are you auditioning?

    • Hilda Huang Thanks, I hope so! I just went and listened to your Bach Toccata, wonderful performance! I like your ornaments and pacing, it sounded very fresh and vivacious. I'm on the fence between the Alkan and something else like a Chopin Ballade or the 2nd Rachmaninoff sonata. I'm more familiar with those alternatives, but the Alkan is just a lot of fun. As to where, I'll be applying to Yale for their DMA program this fall.

      EDIT: small adjustment
