    Hello Domenic,

Will chamber music be applicable for this topic? I am working on Debussy鈥檚 cello sonata and would love some suggestion for the piano part.

    • PM Perhaps not for this class. I will have another class where we discuss chamber music!

I'm an adult learner and at a late beginner level. I am learning Burgmuller op100 pieces.

Dominic Cheli yes, are we using zoom? Would love some feedback! Probably harmony of angels or La pastorale in op100.

  • Hi Dominic,

If it happens to suit the masterclass, may I please submit the Rachmaninoff Prelude op. 23 no. 4 in D major that I recently performed at the community concert. As this piece was a real stretch for me, your feedback could help reveal any current blind spots. Thank you.

My current struggles (that I'm aware of) are how to vary tempo without having it sound wooden on one extreme or getting too loose on the opposite extreme. Are the dynamics appropriate? Are the part layers sufficiently distinct? Too much pedal in places? Love to hear your thoughts!

  • If possible,   either Beethoven: "appassionata" piano sonata no. 23, Op 57 - III. Allegro ma non troppo   or Bach Prelude and fugue in c sharp major, bwv 848.    Of course, the opportunity should go to other member if there are too many participants馃槃

  • Hi, if there's still room, I'd love to perform Bach's Prelude and Fugue No.18, Bk.2! I can perform live (EST time zone), but will try to have a backup recording in case of audio/technical difficulties.

    • Emma Wallace As for questions, I'd definitely be interested in discussing appropriate tempo and tempo relationships; creating a compelling narrative/arch, I'd love to hear your thoughts on articulation in this particular Bach; how to build awareness of when one is expressing the music (like an actor onstage) versus our own literal emotions; I also think that it'd be cool to discuss ways to construct a unified, alluring, and creative concert programme.

    Hi Dominic Cheli,

I saw that you would be holding a masterclass on 20th May, 2022. Although I very much would like to join the event and participate, my current time zone makes it very difficult for me to do so. Would it be possible for me to participate via sending my recordings if there is still time left after other live participants have performed? It would be much appreciated if you could offer me some advice on my playing!

    With thanks,

    Alice Yip
