    I can’t always make the live streams because of my “day job” but I always go  to view the recordings of the ones I have to miss. (One reason I let you know this, it is so that you will realize that your actual audience may be much larger than those who are able to attend live.) Thank you Hilda for so much fascinating and helpful commentary and sharing of your insights. 
    one of my lifetime projects is to get through the entire Well Tempered Clavier so this month’s theme will be of great interest to me.

    I suggest you choose a specific work(s) to go through it in details just like Dominic has chosen Brahms Waltzes op 39. It will be more focused effective at least on me. A work that is accessible to most advance amateurs. It will be something we all work towards. Just commenting in general does not help anyone to play better. Our goal is to play well.

    My vote would be to continue on the current path. I think Hilda is offering perspective that helps us approach our individual pieces more musically.  the discussion of "pulse" was something of an eye-opener for me, and the advice about identifying what is happening in each of the musical voices (e.g. in the Schubert Bb) was also very revealing. 

    I do understand what Priscilla is saying nonetheless, and I agree that Dominic's sessions on the Brahms waltzes were fantastic. I know I would benefit from specific comments on pieces I am working on (although less so from pieces I would have to learn from scratch just to participate).

    I would hope to get comments from Hilda on my own pieces should I dare to submit a video performance (and I AM considering it, with much trepidation! (and very inspired by those who have submitted)).  But the specifically focused commentary is more the domain of a teacher or a master class leader. I think Hilda here is acting more like a coach or a forum discussion leader than a 1 on 1 teacher, & I for one benefit from hearing how a world class musician thinks musically about repertoire & performance.  So I've been getting a lot out of these sessions..

    Thank you for the Livestream today, Hilda! It was very enjoyable! I enjoyed your insights and comments. Particularly, the "radical honesty" and transparency of Bach's works.

    Hi Hilda Huang , I couldn't attend the live session, but watched this later.  Thank you for introducing me to so many different Bach pieces and helpful resources to learn more.

     

    By the way, I came across your performance of Bach's Italian Concerto on Youtube (the one you played for San Fransisco's Noontime Concerts in March of 2014).  What a brilliant performance.  I especially liked the way you played the long trills in the first movement.
