This was very interesting. Thank you, Jarred. Thank you, Ben. I agree that the beauty and intrigue of classical piano music is profound, accessible, meaningful, fun and more...people need more exposure to it. It was delightful to hear that bringing this music to more and more people is what Ben finds very fulfilling.
It would be interesting to hear more (in depth) information and ideas about competitions - - and the alternatives. Are competitions, on the whole, beneficial? What other powerful ways are there to share the work of artists? Tonebase - certainly! What does a competition do to the artistic side of the artist? The competition inserts a "business" side that I don't think is a natural fit for many, if not most, artists.
