Welcome to the tonebase Piano Community!
Hey everyone - this is Dominic from tonebase !
As the lead of tonebase PIANO it's such a pleasure to welcome you to the tonebase community. We would love to get to know you! Please introduce yourself in a post below with the following format:
- Where are you from and what's your favorite food from there? ;)
- What are you currently working on?
- What are you hoping to get out of this community?
I'll go first:
- I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and you better believe that I love my barbecue! It is hard to pick my favorite food between ribs, brisket, or a beautiful grilled steak, but if I have to decide...nothing beats a juicy, fall-off-the-bone rack of baby back ribs!
- Currently working on some old favorites of mine by Carl Vine (Piano Sonata No.1), Beethoven (Piano Concerto No.4) and Scriabin (Fantasy op.28) but also adding some great repertoire by H. Leslie Adams (Etude in A-flat minor Book 2), Laura Kaminsky (Alluvion), and Clara Schumann (Romanze in A minor Op.21 no.1)!
- I am hoping to getting to know and helping all of you achieve your musical and artistic goals. Let's have some fun and get to work!
Now over to you (after some participation from our tonebase team members!)

Hi, Marcus from Vienna, Austria - musical capital of the world ;-) here. And of course Wiener Schnitzel is one of my favourite foods (the original made of veal with potato salad or parsley potatoes and cranberry "jam" as side dishes).
Just working on Liszt 3rd Liebestraum and enjoyed the lesson on this piece with Leann Osterkamp :-)
I´m just beginning to explore the vast amount of really useful classes/courses on tonebase and I´m looking forward to more informative and motivating lessons/courses.

Hi I am David, from Colombia, live in Miami. My bad, I didn’t introduce myself before.
Started with a keyboard a year ago (I had a keyboard when I was like 12 but can’t remember knowing how to play it that much ), then I started watching videos of beautiful piano pieces. I jumped right into the interstellar theme song and that’s how I got interested in classical music.I am currently working in Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement(My goal is to know all three by heart), and love the app so far. It really has tons of useful content and hope to keep finding more! Nice to meet you all.

Hi!
I’m from Porsgrunn in Norway. I am educated as a pianoteacher and pianist in classical music.
I am basically a vegetarianer and loves hummus…mmm.
At the moment I teach more than I play, but I try to work with The Nutcracker and Brahms Hungarian dances, for 4 hands. I have a interesse in female composers, and love to feel that Clara Schumann work fit my hand!:)
Tonebase will help me in my work as a pianoteacher, and help me to still be integrated in my own playing. I am looking foward to get inspired, and are so happy and greatful for this community and Tonebase

Hello Dominic,
Thanks for kicking things off and its amazing to see so many posts in the forum. Warm greetings from sunny Singapore in the heart of Asia!!
I am newer to the piano than many members here, having started my journey December last year...I am 41 this year and will be taking my Grade 1 ABRSM piano exams early December. It looks like all other students taking this grade exam with me are all 7-9 years old. However, I have convinced myself that its never too late to learn a new thing and I am enjoying my journey so far.
On the dietary end, I am a vegetarian (have been so my entire life)...love vegetarian dishes from different parts of the world including Indian, Mexican, Thai, Italian, Chinese, etc.
One key question for the community - As a beginner to the piano, whats the best pathway for the content in the site?
cheers,
Vishy

Hello everyone!
My name is Sal and I’m here to learn how to play the piano. I play the guitar and want to expand the instruments I can play.
I’m from AZ. I’m not sure which food that is specific to here that I think is great maybe some of the wild flower honey that locals make
Currently, I’m working on some songs I’m writing. I feel like advancing my piano knowledge will definitely help with that.
I hope to get a strong foundation on how to play the piano and maybe even make some friends!
