Welcome to the tonebase Piano Community!
Hey everyone - this is Dominic from tonebase !
As the lead of tonebase PIANO it's such a pleasure to welcome you to the tonebase community. We would love to get to know you! Please introduce yourself in a post below with the following format:
- Where are you from and what's your favorite food from there? ;)
- What are you currently working on?
- What are you hoping to get out of this community?
I'll go first:
- I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and you better believe that I love my barbecue! It is hard to pick my favorite food between ribs, brisket, or a beautiful grilled steak, but if I have to decide...nothing beats a juicy, fall-off-the-bone rack of baby back ribs!
- Currently working on some old favorites of mine by Carl Vine (Piano Sonata No.1), Beethoven (Piano Concerto No.4) and Scriabin (Fantasy op.28) but also adding some great repertoire by H. Leslie Adams (Etude in A-flat minor Book 2), Laura Kaminsky (Alluvion), and Clara Schumann (Romanze in A minor Op.21 no.1)!
- I am hoping to getting to know and helping all of you achieve your musical and artistic goals. Let's have some fun and get to work!
Now over to you (after some participation from our tonebase team members!)

HI, I'm Sara from northwestern PA. I like the wine from the local vineyards, as well as the local homemade chocolate shops.
I'm currently interested in approaching Ravel's Sonatine, but spend most of my time preparing for my students' lessons (beginners through advanced).
I hope to gain valuable information for myself and my students.

I’m Monika the Vancouverite turned European for a while. I live in the South of France right by the Italian border.
My favourite and most culturally appropriate food from this part of the world is red and comes in a bottle!Since retiring from teaching two years ago, I have enjoyed playing the piano like never before. I’m learning some Chopin Nocturnes and Waltzes, and the Brahms Waltzes as well. Generally, I look for pieces that are “doable” AND have mass appeal.
Tonebase videos have infused my life with Vitamin Music and this has been deeply transformative. Since I have always missed having a musical community, I am thrilled to have found one here.

Hey All!
I am from a rural community in Ontario, Canada. My favorite "local" food would have to be fresh corn on the cob (in season) cooked in the husk over a fire. There's nothing quiet like it for a range of reasons, though probably mostly nostalgia.I am currently working on the nuances of Beethoven's C-Sharp Minor 1st Mvt ("Moonlight"), re-establishing my scales and basic technique, and ear training.
I am hoping to engage more seriously in piano study through this community and the amazing opportunities this platform provides to connect and learn from world class pianists. I started piano in my mid-20s and am now in my late 30s, but took periods of time off in between and rarely dove in to the depth I would have liked. I have been playing trumpet more seriously over the past couple years, which has (in particular) pulled potential time away from the piano. I ultimately want to spend more time doing composition and establishing a solid piano repertoire at this stage of my life, which is where Tonebase comes in.
I'm looking forward to connecting with everyone here and exploring the amazing array of opportunities we have to grow and develop in our own unique journeys together.

Hi!,
I'm from Santiago, Chile. My favorite food from here is Churrascos with cheese and avocado, with a good pisco sour.
Currently working in some Chopin valse and nocturnes (but Chopin is hard for me just starting to look at it), but my main focus have always been Bach and I´m finishing to polish the C minor prelude WTC and starting to look at the keyboard concerto in D minor.
I hope to learn from great people, so I can grow as a musician, pianist and person
Best
Felipe

Hi, Marcus from Vienna, Austria - musical capital of the world ;-) here. And of course Wiener Schnitzel is one of my favourite foods (the original made of veal with potato salad or parsley potatoes and cranberry "jam" as side dishes).
Just working on Liszt 3rd Liebestraum and enjoyed the lesson on this piece with Leann Osterkamp :-)
I´m just beginning to explore the vast amount of really useful classes/courses on tonebase and I´m looking forward to more informative and motivating lessons/courses.
