This looks like a good topic for the beginning of Brahmsvember. I can only join the first hour.

Dominic Cheli thanks Dominic. I know you will - you’re livestreams are always so informative and interesting. I sometimes go and watch the recording of the stream from when I left if I can’t stay for all of it.

Dominic Cheli I loved how you discussed approaching his music the way he would play it - the type of body movements he favored and not to be overly virtuosic or showy. Sometimes when you hear people play music such as this too fast and smooth it loses some of its emotional depth and character.

I am very happy with this Brahmsvember (as Susan said). I am highly interested in both live streams about Brahms and, of course, in the new community challenge. I played some of the Brahms Waltzes many years ago, when I was a young piano student and enjoyed intensely such a romantic music. Well, now I am not so young, but I certainly still love deeply this music, particularly Brahms. So, I have to dust off the old score. Thank you so much, Dominic!!

Juan Carlos Olite Excellent to hear, Juan Carlos! I am looking forward to your videos of the waltzes - always enjoy your playing very much!

Sorry for the abrupt end to the stream today! Network issue.

Anyway, here are the 51 exercises of Brahms! Enjoy!

Thank you for this Livestream, Dominic! You spoke of the mental strength needed for performing Brahms's pieces. How each finger has its own "brain" so to speak. I also think that is why Brahms is more suited for mature pianists.
