Could you please tell us about correct/best fingering for Op. 10 no. 4? Thank you!

(Opus 10 no. 3) I find measures 25-28, quite difficult to play. I have been told to play with a particular swivel motion and a low wrist, which works for measures 21-25, but which I find quite difficult and uncomfortable for these measures. Do you have any advice for this?

What is a good starting point in the Etudes? I have played several Preludes (the easier ones!), and sampled the Waltzes, Mazurkas, and the Polonaise op 40-1. I have been playing about 13 years now, with teachers. But I am also 68 years old, and have avoided the Etudes to this point. Any advice on where and how to start?

Op 10 No 1, measures 30-36, especially measure 31 (f major dominant chord). I haven't seriously considered fingerings that don't fit the exercise pattern, but perhaps they are necessary for anything other than large hands. Very curious what solution you would recommend.

Is there a particular edition / publisher of Chopin's works (and of course the etudes specifically) that you would recommend to study from? I've been surprised at how much variation there is between editions of Chopin, in terms of articulation, tempo indications, and even different notes in some places. Chopin was known for varying performances, but it would be nice to know in scores, what indications are from Chopin himself vs an editor.

For example, my Schirmer/Friedheim edition indicates 126bpm for Op 10 No 2. But I recently looked at the Michalowski Edition and Friedman editions, which indicate 114bpm and 144bpm. That is quite a difference, and it makes me wonder whether Chopin indicated metronome marks at all.

    Hello,
My question is for the Butterfly etude.  There are accents on the strong beats, and you mentioned you ignore some accent markings in the F Major etude.  Here, would you mentally group right after the strong beat (the “e” of 1 e & a to the “e” of 2), or what do you suggest?  Also, do you have a preferred method of building speed, I did not see you mention any metronomes in your series.  Lastly, any particular go-to for the jumping LH that sometimes gets ignored and misses, as the RH gets most of the attention.  Many thanks!

Dominic Cheli or martin I just now went to watch this livestream to hear Marina’s answer to my question, and it says “no content.” My class schedule has kept me busy so I didn’t have time to look until now. I understand that the video stream didn’t work well that day, but I wanted to hear what she had to say in response to my query. Is there any way to access this? Thanks.
