Rhythm Unlocked: From Steady Pulse to Expressive Freedom
Rhythm isn’t just about counting — it’s the heartbeat of music. In this live stream, we’ll explore how to feel, shape, and play with rhythm across styles and levels.
You’ll learn how to:
Build a rock-solid pulse and internal sense of time (even with tricky meters)
Navigate rubato in Chopin, swing in jazz, and rhythmic drive in Beethoven
Use rhythm expressively — to make phrases come alive
We’ll start with accessible rhythm exercises for beginners and move all the way to advanced layering!
Whether you struggle with staying in time or want to explore rhythmic nuance and style, this session will open up a new way of hearing and practicing rhythm.

Will there be a recording to watch later? I am working during that time.

I’m hoping this webinar will address polyrhythms (such as two against three) and the best ways to practice them and to determine if you are playing them correctly.

That sounds great. Happy there will be a recording incase I can't make the live event.

Great stream! Thanks for putting it on. I missed the live event, but watched the recording. I'm working on CPE Bach's Fantasia in F-sharp minor right now and trying to find the right balance between maintaining a consistent pulse and allowing for more freedom of expression. The stream had lots of helpful ideas for me to consider and apply to my piece.

can you guys do something of the severs hosting past live stream videos, the bandwidth may not be enough, keeps buffering even on 240p, while 4k video can be played on YouTube with the same network.

I've also had problems, for years, when viewing past livestreams (which seem to come through Vimeo). They start and stop (perhaps a buffering issue), and sometimes freeze for a very long time which leads me to refresh them. Happens on every device I use, with excellent internet connectivity and bandwidth. Sometimes (more rarely) happens also when playing the other content from Tonebase.

...and, I recently got stuck on a Vimeo page trying to verify that I was not a bot. There was no way to view the content......

it seems there is a country restriction imposed by Vimeo, only US viewers can view 1080p videos, Vimeo limits bandwidth for viewers outside of US. If this is the case, can you ask Vimeo to remove this restriction? Thanks.
