Hi Dominic Cheli , If I can record a decent video for the watch party, where do I send it? Or is it a live Zoom happening?

  • Hello Dominic. I don't know much about Grieg, so if you can, please start by talking about his piano music in general.

And play a piece yourself please. Show us how it should be done.

    Dominic Cheli Hello Dominic!

I have just seen the Grieg Watch Party and I have heard your question about Solveig's Son transcription.

In fact, in my score there is no name of the author. It is an old score of the EMB (Editio Musica Budapest) with the transcription of the two Peer Gynt suites.

I have scanned Solveig's Song for all of you.

Thank you Dominic for all your work in Tonebase and these inspiring challenges.

    • Juan Carlos Olite Dominic Cheli This is arranged by Grieg himself! :)

Sindre Skarelven It's great, I didn't know it. Could be not better. Thank you, Sindre!

    • Juan Carlos Olite You are welcome! Grieg arranged this suite for both piano solo and four hand piano! So these pieces are great to play with a friend as well. My personal favorite is Anitras dance :)

Sindre Skarelven We have the four hands version. Thurmond wants to play one of the 4-hand pieces with me .... I keep telling him I'm not ready, but he says, "Oh, it's easy!" :-)

    • Michelle R that would be so much fun if you and Thurmond played one of the four hand pieces! Maybe in the future.. :)

Thank you Dominic Cheli for this streaming. Wonderful to be able to watch it on archives as I work shift.

I enjoyed listening and watching fellow pianists playing Grieg. Good job everyone 👍
