Excellent point, Dominic, about deciding whether one can realistically perform a piece with appropriate modifications. 

I enjoyed hearing about Irene's growth - greater maturity - from a critical/judgmental conservatory student to a teacher/audience member at times and appreciating when listening whether the pianist/artist/musician is offering something genuine to the audience. Giving of themselves.

Dear Dr. Kim, 

I am new to tonebase so I just have the chance to visit the past livestream you did. I found your presentation very helpful especially about tips to "test" if the piece was ready to perform. 

You mentioned about playing each hand separately by memorization. I thought about to playing each hand separately with memorization. And while I discuss about this concept with my pianist friends and they all think that it is a wonderful idea but not practical (especially for left hand) and not even possible to do. I found that I might be able to memorize each hand for certain sections/phrases, but not able to memorize the entire piece of music separately. 

Can you please share how to practice to memorize each hand separately?
