Warming Up & Cooling Down: Stretching for Musicians

It's time we start thinking about more than just our hands and our brains when approaching our instruments. Join Ashely Lucero, in an informative webinar about full body stretching exercises that are appropriate for before and after a practice session/performance. We will even go over some basic strengthening poses (no equipment required!)

This is tangential to the topic, but what can be done to quiet the negative inner chatter that occurs while playing?

    • My strategy is to use it instead of quieting it.
While practising, I try to access "him" to ensure I've covered everything properly. This improves the quality of my practice and, therefore, my performance.
It "chats" positively during recital time and keeps me alert.

Great question! I wonder if Noa Kagayama at The Bulletproof Musician has info on that!

  • I'm going to Valencia tomorrow to finish a postgrad course on piano biomechanics. It will be very pertinent to watch this event on tonebase today. ☺️
