Week 2 Thread: The Era of Haydn and Mozart! 
Welcome to the Main Thread for the third week of "Mozart & Haydn - Music from the 18th Century" challenge!

This week, we will talk about the different ways composers were trained during the 18th century and how they could achieve such high productivity through schemas and patterns
Look at a different piece by the same composer you are studying and try to compare the music to the new piece you are practicing now.
If you are ready, post a short clip of the patterns you found in your music! One of the ways we grow is through feedback and self-reflection.
Pick a piece from the suggested repertoire according to your level or share any piece written during the 18th century that you have been working on!

I've been focusing a little more on learning the Mozart Rondo K. 485 this week. Of course memorizing the piece, and I've had time to interpret a little bit. Still some tricky parts I need to work more on! And I will keep working on the overall structure of the piece. Any feedback is welcomed!

Sindre Skarelven I really like this piece and your interpretation! Everything sounds so crisp and I like the ornaments (the ones at 4:48/4:49 caught my ear especially). The mood is so lively. I haven’t heard this before so thanks for picking it.

I've been working on memorizing the 2nd and 3rd movement of the Haydn sonata Hob. XVI 38. It's very freshly memorized, so still a long way to go!

It is already really good! The left hand you play here is what you should use in Mozart as well.
the chords at the beginning of the second movement could feel more as part of a phrase if they would be played softer… maybe…

Juan Carlos Olite Thank you so much, Juan Carlos! Yes, Haydn is amazing, and I think it’s great that we have this challenge to bring this music to our attention. Glad that you enjoy the sonata I’m playing, and might play it one day! There’s still a lot of work to be done. Right now I’m on a little vacation, but will work on a final recording before the challenge is over. As you saw, I’m also playing the Mozart k. 485. I’ve been wanting to have it on my repertoire, so this challenge was a nice opportunity. Good luck with finishing up your sonata, and take good care in the heat!

Hi Dr Antonella, hi everyone!
I'm in the middle of learning Mozart's Sonata in C major K309, and this is the 2nd movement. It's grown on me, even though I didn't think the 2nd movement was as much fun as the 1st movement in the beginning. I need to work on this more thoroughly. I find the ornaments challenging in this piece.
