Week 4 Thread: The Meaning in Music 🕴

Welcome to the Main Thread for the fourth week of "Mozart & Haydn - Music from the 18th Century" challenge!

Where is the meaning in a piece of music written in the 18th century for keyboard only? Is that music meaningless? Or was this type of music only composed for solely entertainment purposes?

Try to find the meaningful elements in the music you have studied this month

And… Post a clip of your beautiful performance!

Pick a piece from the suggested repertoire according to your level or share any piece written during the 18th century that you have been working on!

If you want to describe your process, feel free to use the following template.

  • Piece(s) you have been working on:
  • Things you found easy:
  • Things you found difficult:

Happy sharing 😍

  • Here is (probably) my final take on the Mozart Rondo in D K 485 for this challenge. I feel it's getting close to be really good, but I will have to work on it some more! Maybe play it on a Community concert later on. Now I will focus on the Haydn... :)

    • Sindre Skarelven Beautiful!

Maybe you can work a bit on one small thing the right-hand main theme is very important and so... it should appear in the same shape and form every time. Sometimes the patterns at the left hand seem to disturb the regularity in the theme. I think that a few days of slow practice will piece things together...

great job and great memory as usual.

And congratulations for completing this month's challenge...

You are actually taking a double challenge :)
