Hi Dominic , great topic! I hope I will be able to join but will post my question in advance in case I can't join live. Although the Busoni transcription of Bach's Chaconne for violin is probably the most well-known, my favorite is the Brahms' transcription for left-hand as it more closely resembles the original violin version.
I have tried to play this piece a number of times but it is quite a workout for the left hand (usually I cheat and use the right hand for parts). In particular during the long/fast arpeggios from measures 89-124 my hand gets so tired through this section that I can rarely make it to the end before my hand cramps up. Probably I'm not using the proper technique. Other challenges in this piece are places where you have to bring out certain voices (e.g. 177-200 and many others) and of course all the scales. Thank you!
