ABOUT TONEBASE COMMUNITY CONCERTS:
These events are NOT live-streamed OR recorded, but are private zoom meetings where tonebase members can share their hard work and perform for each other!
These concerts can be played LIVE, or if you can't attend, you can submit a recording!
This is a GENEROUS and SUPPORTIVE space.
Performing is one of the best ways to push yourself, and really evaluate the work/progress you have made!
Repertoire is open to any piece!
Memorization is NOT required.
You can play select movements, or even sections of pieces! No need to perform a complete work!
Playing the piano is fun, but sharing your music with others is one of life's great joys. Join in on the fun and cheer each other on!

It is the Rondeau he composed in 1943.
I really wanted to learn this piece for its lightness of spirit and joy. Should be played a bit faster — still work progress. I hope I can convey at least a bit of how I feel about this music. Happy summer to everyone!

I'd like to play something if I'm able, possibly the G Major Prelude and Fugue from Book 1 of the WTC, and/or Rachmaninoff's A Major Prelude. I have them both almost memorized, but I'll be traveling the week before the concert and probably not able to practice, so I might not get all the way there with either.
If those are not ready, I could contribute another jazz/pop standard if there were interest in that, possibly "Stars Fell on Alabama" or "Red Sails in the Sunset" or the Beatle Song "Mother Nature's Son".
Looks like we've got another slate of really interesting music! I'm looking forward to hearing my colleagues' performances whether or not I'm ready to play.

I would love to play Chopin Nocturne (Op. 62, no. 2) and Kapustin Etude (Op. 40, no. 2) but will have to make a recording (can’t be there at the specific time)

I'll be traveling on the date of this community concert, so I'm submitting my piece in advance. It is "Waltz Ballade," a piece I composed as part of an experimental dance suite.

I'd like to play live. I'll play either a RH only piece, "Chaconne in E Minor" by Melody Bober, or the Tchaikovsky op 39 no 7, "Sick Doll." Both are short. I'll confirm which one I'll play closer to the date of the recital. Thanks.

Thanks Gail . It’s about 85% in regular life and about 95% in piano life. Partially torn ligaments just take awhile to heal, but I’m finally able to play carefully selected 2-hand repertoire. Yay!
