ABOUT TONEBASE COMMUNITY CONCERTS:

These events are NOT live-streamed OR recorded, but are private zoom meetings where tonebase members can share their hard work and perform for each other!

These concerts can be played LIVE, or if you can't attend, you can submit a recording!

This is a GENEROUS and SUPPORTIVE space.

Performing is one of the best ways to push yourself, and really evaluate the work/progress you have made!

Repertoire is open to any piece!

Memorization is NOT required.

You can play select movements, or even sections of pieces! No need to perform a complete work!

Playing the piano is fun, but sharing your music with others is one of life's great joys. Join in on the fun and cheer each other on!

FOR OPTIMIZING YOUR ZOOM SETTINGS PLEASE SEE THE SHORT VIDEOS BELOW!

Hi! I’d like to participate with a piece by Olivier Messiaen, most likely a short one, if I get it anywhere near performance level. It will be a recording due to time zone difference.

I'd like to play something if I'm able, possibly the G Major Prelude and Fugue from Book 1 of the WTC, and/or Rachmaninoff's A Major Prelude.  I have them both almost memorized, but I'll be traveling the week before the concert and probably not able to practice, so I might not get all the way there with either.

If those are not ready, I could contribute another jazz/pop standard if there were interest in that, possibly "Stars Fell on Alabama" or "Red Sails in the Sunset" or the Beatle Song "Mother Nature's Son".

Looks like we've got another slate of really interesting music! I'm looking forward to hearing my colleagues' performances whether or not I'm ready to play.

  • I would love to play Chopin Nocturne (Op. 62, no. 2) and Kapustin Etude (Op. 40, no. 2) but will have to make a recording (can’t be there at the specific time)

  • I'll be traveling on the date of this community concert, so I'm submitting my piece in advance. It is "Waltz Ballade," a piece I composed as part of an experimental dance suite.

  • Hello Tonebase team!
    My name is Olena Haviuk-Sheremet.
I would like to record and share a composition by Ukrainian composer since I will not be able to attend live.

The composition is Rhapsody on Ukrainian Themes No. 2, op. 18 by Mykola Lysenko (1842-1912)

I'd like to play live. I'll play either a RH only piece, "Chaconne in E Minor" by Melody Bober, or the Tchaikovsky op 39 no 7, "Sick Doll." Both are short. I'll confirm which one I'll play closer to the date of the recital. Thanks.

It looks like neither of my pieces (the Bach G Major P&F and the Rach A Major Prelude) will be ready to perform.  I'll be away for the next 10+ days and unable to practice.  and they still need LOTS of practice!  So I'll take those off the list.

I'll be happy to be a spectator for what's shaping up to be a very diverse and interesting concert. I could still do one of my pop songs if there was interest, but given all the sign-ups I'd also be fine sitting this one out if we were short of time.

  • Unfortunately my Kapustin is not getting up, so I will replace it with a short piece by Miriam Hyde (Australian composer) and send a video of that and the aforementioned Chopin (Op. 62, no. 2) quite soon
