  • Here is my week 4 video. I played it slightly slower than last week to see if I like it better- not sure yet if I do. Happy to have started learning a new piece with everyone in this challenge.

    • Vidhya Bashyam absolutely beautiful! You really did an amazing job with this piece - capturing that tranquil soft wave-like motion in the left while bringing out the melody in the right. Just awesome!

Vidhya Bashyam Sounds beautiful, Vidhya! Elegant and very gentle in the phrasing. I think that the tempo is perfectly appropriate for the mood of the piece, breathing calmly every phrase.

Vidhya Bashyam Just lovely. There seems to be a lot of room to play around with tempo for this piece, depending on how you're feeling and how the piano/acoustics are on a given day.

  • Uploading my progress on Chopin Nocturnes Op. 55! I just came back from my travel (went to NY and Baltimore to see concerts by Yunchan Lim and Minsoo Son!!!) yesterday and took a shot of my nocturnes. Might not much improvement.. or even degraded cause I wasn't able to practice much last week. I also feel I'm at that period of time of transitioning from practicing to be more fluent comportable for live performing in mid May.

It was a great expericnce exchanging progress with folks here, it's very motivating and great to know that there are so much energy going into making music. Will be happy to join future threads too! Thanks!

    • Miyoung Choi Sublime! Absolutely in awe with your complete control over the dynamics ❤️

I'm actually intrigue about your Yamaha N1X .. it sounds pretty good .. how do you find playing on it?

    • Priya Viseskul Yea I'm pretty satisfied with my N1X..! It does sound good. The way I record is just using the default #1 voice (Yamaha concert grand sound sampling) out of the piano speakers with an external mic. I would say the sound you can hear from the recording is pretty much the same as what you can hear in person, if you are using a reasonably balanced ear buds or headphone. Still sometimes it sounds digital cause it doesn't produce that acoustic attenuation sound from the piano sound board, but beside that it's a really good piano for practicing purposes. I mainly got this due to the complete grand piano action, so I can be prepared for any grand pianos that I have to perform with.

Miyoung Choi Your last video was already at such a high level of refinement, this take still sounds lovely! I'm also very impressed with your N1X, it sounds much better than my prior U3-SH did.
