I made it through approximately 80% of Voiles (from Book 1 of Debussy's Preludes), during the time of this challenge. Here's a recording of what I've managed so far, minus the last three lines of music which I haven't learned yet :D  It's been rewarding learning something unexpected because of this challenge, and I now understand much better the difference between whole tone and pentatonic scales!

I picked Ondine and this is what I got so far! It was quite a jurney to play this piece, it's the seccond Debussy's piece I play and it's quite different from the first one I did, which was Dr. Gradus ad Parnassum.
I found some of the melodies to be quite beautiful and very haunting overall. And loved the freedom you get and the many interpretations you can imprint in almost any part.
Still have lots of work to do with it, but i'm quite pleased to show what i was able to achieve with the time given.

you did a great job for such a short time! I’ve also picked Ondine. I’ve learned this prelude for a concert last November. It took me four months to learn it. And now I’ve used the challenge to relearn it again.

What a sensitive and magical performance. Keep at it and this will be a wonderful addition to your repertoire.

(Funny, I took off my headphones since it sounded like a plane was flying overhead, but then I realized it was in the video. Hope to hear the completed work with the engine noise!)

Posting a portion of my piece- Bruyères. Recently back from a two week trip, so haven’t been able to spend too much time on it.. I love this introduction to Debussy and will certainly keep working through this lovely Prelude.

Lovely playing, it’s sounding really good! And you learned quite a substantial amount even though you were traveling most of the month!

Beautiful playing, Vidhya! Gentle, delicate, "purple" in mood, like the images you shared.

Thanks! Actually Bruyères means “heather”- the purple flowers in the pictures I included. I should have explained why I shared them. Imagine a pastoral setting, wandering peacefully over heather covered hillsides and fields.

Here's my recording of Valse romantique that I've learned on 2012. I didn't like it very much. As time went by I started liking it and I decided to take it back for the Debussy challenge.
