Question about pricing for piano camp 2025

One of the reasons I signed up on Tonebase recently was that I thought I might like to attend the 2025 piano camp.  I saw that the 2024 camp offered a discount to Tonebase members, which reduced the price to $3150 for ten days.  That was actually less than the Sonata piano camp in Bennington, which I attended a few times back in the early 2000s.

But now I see that the 2025 camp has raised the price to $4050, and it's not clear from the information page whether that includes a member discount.  Either way, I was surprised and, honestly, a bit disheartened to see such a huge increase in price.

I hope someone with inside knowledge can clarify the pricing issue for me.  If it is indeed $4050 for members, I will probably not attend.

Here is where I saw the pricing:

    Hi Mark,

    I believe the non-member price is $4500.

If the $4050 price is more than you wish to spend, look at the Adamant Music School's website.  The have a variety of similar "camps" which might be priced to a more appealing price point.

    • Roger Ward Confused because I looked at the registration form without signing in as a tone base member and the price is discounted to 4050 from 4500.  That appears to be the "regular" price since I didn't log in.  As Mark said, I don't see any indication where the discount for being a tone base member is.  Am looking to see if there is any further clarification somewhere.

Dolores Bacon . Hi Delores, I am a Tonebase member I and paid $4030 for the Piano Camp 2025. I assumed the $4500 was for non-members but perhaps it is an illusion.

I considered Sonata, but I am not into sharing sleeping quarters with strangers, and didn't want everything cramped into one building.   I love Adamant Music School's environment with the individual studios -scattered over 100+ acres- with a few large central buildings for group lessons, performances, and sure eating!

    • Roger Ward Hi!  Thanks, that's helpful.  I'm a member as well so will have to figure out how to get the price you mentioned if that discount is still available.  When we meet (if I end up going), I can tell you what it was like sharing sleeping quarters with strangers - I attended Sonata for 11 years!

Dolores Bacon  Hi again, I'd love to hear your stories!  I am generally sleep deprived and I've learned to demand what little sleep I can get.

Piano Camp was one of the best experiences for me. I made wonderful friends. The video of the 2024 Camp captured the experience exactly. Adamant Music School is truly beautiful, and it's history is profound. If you have any problems getting in, email [email protected].

He's wonderful and will do everything he can.

Hi Roger!  Who is wonderful and will do everything he can?  I’ve missed something!  The video is very reminiscent of a video released a few years ago for Sonata and I loved what I saw, and the vibe.  Really liked reading that you’ve made good friends!  If I go to this camp (right now trying to figure out the logistics of getting there from NYC) really looking forward to sharing some memories and laughs about camp related sleepdeprivation.  My last year at Sonata, I stayed at an air bnb and sleeping alone on a good mattress is a total game changer.  You’re very smart to prioritizing sleep!

Hi Dolores, There are two hosts from Tonebase: Noah and Dominic. Both are outstanding hosts and are excellent teachers. I think both will be there for the 10 days. You can reach Noah at [email protected] and Dominic at [email protected]

I worked with both of them and I know they have worked very hard with Adamant Music School to make this a success.

The grounds of Adamant Music School blow everyone away.  I hope you have seen the Adamant Tonebase video on the 2024 piano camp. It accurately captures the experience.

      I hope see you there!

  • Hi Mark,

I just found out about this camp and was interested, also was surprised to see the big price jump.   Had gone to Sonata camp in Bennington for many years, last attended in 2019.  The prices are higher (this year 3245 for 9 days in the summer and two of those days are non-camp days since they are for arrival and departure).  Fall sessions are cheaper but also shorter (7 days).  Potentially 24 attendees (August and early October are already wait listed).  Came here to see if there was any feedback from people who attended camp last year and saw your post so just giving you a shout out

  • Thanks for the replies.  I suppose in fairness I should expect a higher price compared with Sonata, given the private sleeping quarters and more grand pianos.  I loved Sonata but had a very difficult time getting enough sleep because I'm an early-bird, and most people like to stay up late banging on the pianos and talking.  Plus not all of the pianos at Sonata are grands, and some of the uprights are not so great (like the one in the mudroom).

    • Mark Alexander sorry!  Hit ‘reply’ in the wrong place so you got my message to Roger.  I know exactly what you mean about people staying up late AND the variability of the pianos.  From what I am reading there are many more positives about Adamant!  I’m still trying to find out what the actual cost will and if the 4050 that’s showing includes a discount (early bird, tonebase member etc).  Above 4K is a daunting figure either way and I totally relate to $4050 tipping the scale against attendance.  I’m still trying to gather information.  From your messages, Roger’s and the website/video, it looks like a wonderful place.  Appreciate your posts and your replies!

  • Hello Everyone!
We understand that the pricing has raised some questions, and we want to address those.

The current pricing reflects the early bird discount, and we want to emphasize that Tonebase members benefit from this special rate, along with early access to the event before our broader advertisement for the events begin and the event is officially announced to the public! After the early bird period, the price will increase, so we encourage those interested to take advantage of this discount while it’s available.
Thank you and hope to see you at some of our upcoming events!

You can always email me with any questions!
