Hi: I'm finding the marketing around the "all-new Tonebase Music platform" rather confusing. What, exactly, is new here? The fact that you're depicting stills from existing tonebase videos makes me think that what you're now offering is more of a guided tour through existing TB offerings, perhaps along the lines of the "what level am I playing at" questionnaire put together by Ben Laude with subsequent suggestions for repertoire to learn and technical lessons to watch. Can anyone clarify?  Thanks!

Great question! We’ve actually hosted two livestreams discussing the new platform, which you can find linked below. But to answer your question more directly:

On tonebase, each “instrument platform” focuses on improving your skills to play the repertoire you love! These platforms are designed to help with technical development, specific repertoire lessons, performance tips, and more.

Over the years, several teachers (including myself!) have offered livestreams and courses on other tangential topics. For example, I’ve given sessions on selecting recording equipment, using an iPad, and theory streams, while Martin has led a more in-depth “Recording Academy” in the past.

With tonebase Music, we’re taking things to the next level. While you can still learn about these tangential topics through the instrument platforms (and I’ll continue answering your questions here on the Piano platform through livestreams and more!), “tonebase Music” will offer dozens of NEW courses covering deeper subjects like:
“How to manage a classroom for teaching”“How to record yourself professionally” (covering lighting, sound engineering, and more)

      ”Singing for non-singers”

In-depth explorations of various genres and time periods and much more!

Dominic Cheli Thanks so much for clarifying, Dominic. I hadn't been able to make the livestreams, so it really helps to have your capsule summary -- and the links, and the sneak peek. :)  best, Vicky

  • I think the big question that I have, is will there be separate charges for the different venues or will the membership class include music history, theory and ear training, etc .

    Thanks

Really excited about new platform 😃 Are there going to be regular Alexander Technique and Feldenkris sessions.... How about Delcroze(?) sessions too

  • Just as Martin has done a session on recording technique, I was wondering if we might get a top notch physical therapist/pianist to design a specific 20 minute in home workout routine that those of us sitting for hours, sometimes with muscle tension, could do before and/ or after daily practice. Thank you!
