    Chopin Etude No.6  Difficulties

    1.  I found the descending 3rd Scales are challenging for me to play accurately in bar 11 and from bars 15 - 16.
    2.  From bars 27 - 34, it is difficult for me to rotate in a relaxing state.
    3.  I found the descending 3rd Scales are challenging for me to play smoothly from bars 43 - 48.
    4.  I found the descending Chromatic 3rd Scales are challenging for me to play smoothly from bars 57 - 60.

    I am starting the piece with right finger number2,4 and 1, 5. It is very difficult to use 1,3 and 2,4. Very unbalanced.

     

    I wonder if it has any problem to use 2,4 and 3,5. 

    I wonder if It is better for me to stick with 1,3 and 2,4.

    Not sure if posts after the event are noticed or responded to but thought I'd try: At around 11:00 Henry talks about initial double third technique and the concept of feeling from the elbow to the 2 fingers, completely balanced, etc. As he moves from one position to the next I believe he is essentially keeping the wrist static with regards to pivot-the-hand-left-or-right type movements? Hence the arm is basically always "straight" when looked at from above? Likewise it seems like he is avoiding from-the-left/right orientation changes if say the 1st 3rd is more easily reached when approaching a bit "from the left" vs. a subsequent 3rd perhaps more easily reached when approached "from the right" -- and instead he would work on finding locations on those keys for the finger tips that allow the arm to stay straight not bend at the wrist left or right?
