I am a 77y/o retired physician who wanted to be a professional horn player, but found out that there was no role, at that time, for females in the brass section of orchestras. I hated piano as a child and stopped it after brief period, and did not pass out of class piano during my year at Eastman. 10 years ago I decided to take piano lessons because I had arthritis in my hands, never expecting to fall in love with the piano. However I am passionate about it and feel as if part of my life has been given back to me. I have become a low advanced pianist and love to explore music. I feel like I am in a candy shop with piano literature, since there are so many composers that have written wonderfully for the instrument.
