What does one think about during those highly chromatic passages or very fast passages (i.e winterwind, or the diminished chord sections in the op 10 no 3)? Any tips on how to play those fast etudes accurately? I feel like i cannot get past 1 page without any mistakes. I know the notes but the hands just somehow keep missing the notes due to the speed. How does one solve this? Is there anything in particular to think about to improve accuracy? I have tried rhythm practice, add ons etc. but to no avail.

Thank you, Marina! This was very interesting! So many good points expressed graciously and precisely. Thank you, Dominic! Thank you to all of you who asked excellent questions!
I am very grateful for this community! It brings joy!
Marina is a type of "home-grown philosopher" - where piano is concerned! :D
Haha, Marina, about the "Colosseum, the gladiator pit"! True at times, and that is why one's mindset must be right.
