Historical instruments and their tuning

I've always been interested in what instruments were played in a particular time period or by a particular composer, and what tuning they used.

For example, I enjoy playing a Schubert Sonata on a slightly lower tuned (425-430) Pianoforte (digital physically modeled that is - one can only have so many physical instruments), and I think it really adds another dimension to the experience than playing everything on a 440 tuned grand piano.

It would be great if more information about this could be found on this platform. I read another suggestion in a topic here about 'Introduction to composer X', I think this kind of information would fit right in.

Justin Taylor's album Chopin Intime was recorded in Mallorca on Chopin's 1839 Pleyel pianino.
