Andrea LeVan Dear Andrea, that is very kind of you .  Michelle also offered to do a trial with me and we have it set up for tomorrow.  I wouldn't mind trying a second one with you if you are willing, to see whether I can repeat my success (I'm being optimistic that we're going to be successful tomorrow!)  I'll email you about it shortly.

It turns out that my G Major Prelude and Fugue were not nearly as ready as I had hoped on June 7th, which became evident when I tried to record them. So maybe it's a blessing in disguise that I didn't get to inflict them on everyone on the 7th.  After several more days of practice, I have  (barely) acceptable work-in-process recordings of these pieces, which I can share with you.  Not sure I want to post them except maybe as a practice diary entry.  Maybe by August I'll have them a little more polished and secure. ... thanks again.

Andrea LeVan That's great Andrea, I appreciate it.  I'll send you an email with some good times after I sort out a bunch of family visit times and dates.

I had a good session with Michelle.  She pointed out the little green button for 'Original Sound for Musicians' that you have to turn on on the main screen, even after you've turned it on in the Audio settings page. We got it to work! But I would like to see whether I could replicate this grand success in another session before the concert.  As every pianist knows, practice makes [for less distance to ] perfect.

Since you've also said you'd like to hear my Prelude & Fugue, I'll include a link in my email to some trial videos I made. I'm not sure whether they are finished enough to post publicly.  Maybe I should set up a practice diary where I could post them as works in process, we'll see.

springgrass I totally agree with Alexander. It's a privilege to hear Yihan play at this early and yet extremely advanced stage of his development.  Just having the option to choose among the repetoire you mention above is totally amazing! can't wait to hear him in August.

springgrass We love hearing Yihan play ANYthing he likes!  He is such a joy.

Look like it will be Ondine and/or Feux Follets... not quite "there" yet, but he thinks he can perform them. I mean to present a recording to one of community concerts, but Yihan always prefers performing live... they are good opportunities for him to practice performances since he's learning from home... So here it's it... Thanks for Dominic Cheli for teaching and introducing Yihan to Rachmaninoff music, Yihan's first taste of Rach concerto, and I hope it's not the last...
