ABOUT TONEBASE COMMUNITY CONCERTS:
These events are NOT live-streamed OR recorded, but are private zoom meetings where tonebase members can share their hard work and perform for each other!
These concerts can be played LIVE, or if you can't attend, you can submit a recording!
This is a GENEROUS and SUPPORTIVE space.
Performing is one of the best ways to push yourself, and really evaluate the work/progress you have made!
Repertoire is open to any piece!
Memorization is NOT required.
You can play select movements, or even sections of pieces! No need to perform a complete work!
Playing the piano is fun, but sharing your music with others is one of life's great joys. Join in on the fun and cheer each other on!

I plan to play - right now my goal is to have Burgmuller's Ballade (from his opus 100) ready by then.

I'd like to play something if I can get my Zoom settings right. I'm still a little puzzled as to why I couldn't output any sound for the June 7 concert, but think I have identified the possible culprit. anyone willing to do a trial zoom with me before hand? you can direct message me on my profile page and we can exchange emails etc.

I’m no zoom guru but happy to take however much time you need on a zoom to get you up and running (plus I really want to hear you play!). Andrea LeVan Dear Andrea, that is very kind of you . Michelle also offered to do a trial with me and we have it set up for tomorrow. I wouldn't mind trying a second one with you if you are willing, to see whether I can repeat my success (I'm being optimistic that we're going to be successful tomorrow!) I'll email you about it shortly.
It turns out that my G Major Prelude and Fugue were not nearly as ready as I had hoped on June 7th, which became evident when I tried to record them. So maybe it's a blessing in disguise that I didn't get to inflict them on everyone on the 7th. After several more days of practice, I have (barely) acceptable work-in-process recordings of these pieces, which I can share with you. Not sure I want to post them except maybe as a practice diary entry. Maybe by August I'll have them a little more polished and secure. ... thanks again.

Andrea LeVan That's great Andrea, I appreciate it. I'll send you an email with some good times after I sort out a bunch of family visit times and dates.
I had a good session with Michelle. She pointed out the little green button for 'Original Sound for Musicians' that you have to turn on on the main screen, even after you've turned it on in the Audio settings page. We got it to work! But I would like to see whether I could replicate this grand success in another session before the concert. As every pianist knows, practice makes [for less distance to ] perfect.
Since you've also said you'd like to hear my Prelude & Fugue, I'll include a link in my email to some trial videos I made. I'm not sure whether they are finished enough to post publicly. Maybe I should set up a practice diary where I could post them as works in process, we'll see.

I would love to play and will decide what to play later.

Yihan would performs a piece, depending on what he can get done practicing and polish, either a Beethoven no 7 sonata movement, Beethoven sonata no 23, Feux Follets, Ondine, Hungarian Rhapsody... We will know for sure as it comes closer, but he loves to perform with the wonderful Tonebase piano community :-)

springgrass I totally agree with Alexander. It's a privilege to hear Yihan play at this early and yet extremely advanced stage of his development. Just having the option to choose among the repetoire you mention above is totally amazing! can't wait to hear him in August.

I plan to come and play also but haven’t yet decided on my piece. I’ll get back on that

I will stick with the theme of this recital which seems to be "TBD"
... I am working on several larger pieces at the moment, all of which are too long for a Community Concert, so I'll dig out something short from years past - 3 minutes or less. -
I, too, would like to play in this concert but will decide on repertoire closer to the date.

I would also want to participate this time. I will play the first movement of the Sonata No 24 in F Sharp Major by Beethoven. I might add the second movement, but not sure how much time I will have for practicing during the next weeks.

I am going to sign up- most likely will play Schubert Moment Musical #2.
