Watching Lukas Sternath play the Grieg on Apple’s Vision Pro

In a video setup that rivals the one put together by Peter Golemme Apple recorded Lukas Sternath’s debut playing the Grieg piano concerto at the BBC Proms.

The concert was captured in 3D immersive video and can be viewed with Apple’s Vision Pro headset.

I was completely captivated by the performance. It was mesmerizing.

As a viewer, I was basically hovering over the soloist with an amazing view of his hands and feet, to say nothing of view from behind the French horns, a birds eye view, a view from the last row, and another from the podium across the keyboard towards the audience. There was also a camera at the tail of the piano pointed toward the soloist. 
 

At one point, Lukas used the sleeve of his expensive looking jacket to polish the Steinway logo. I don’t know if that was a nervous gesture or one paid for by Steinway, lol.
 

If you can make it to an Apple Store, ask them for a demo and watch a few minutes of this performance.

The first time I saw immersive video on the Vision Pro, I burst into tears. I felt that baby black rhinos were grazing at my feet in a field in Africa.

James Cameron, who has done a lot of 3D work, said his first time using the Vision Pro was akin to a religious experience.
