Happy Weekend, piano friends!  I'm really enjoying all your posts!

Here's my attempt at the "Progress" Etude after 1 quick practice session last night.

Sorry it sounds too loud, though.  I finally bought a carpet for my living room, but it didn't help moderate the sound enough.

The piano sits under my metal and glass staircase and I think the stairs make everything echo too much?

Maybe I should put a blanket on top?

    • Gail Starr beautiful Gail! Nice and lively! I have a problem of my piano being too loud as it’s a bit large for the room it is in. I have tried a blanket on top, felt inside the soundboard. Neither made much difference in the volume. It might help you with echo though? Or those sound absorbing tiles you stick on the wall, I wonder if you could attach under the stairs. I haven’t tried those yet but I know they do help with bouncy sound, sometimes they fall off though.

  • Hello everyone! I'm sorry to not have posted anything here until now. As I mentioned somewhere else, I had so tension issues in my left hand starting this week. Then I got a last minute gig this Thursday I just had to for, big event with a band for midsummer's day (June 23.) Since it was with a band, I wasn't too concerned about the LH, because it will be lot less engaged in this music. (It was pop/rock/soul/funk and jazz) And fortunately I was right the LH feels lots better, but still I will be a little bit cautious with classical pieces that will bring much tension to it. PS: The gig was so much fun!! Outdoor concert, lots of people!!
Anyway, I started practicing Czerny op 599 this week-end, and had some fun transposing it to all 12 keys. It's a fun way to both play scales and do a little mental exercise as well :)

Sindre Skarelven Awesome idea to transpose!  I'll give that a try, too.  So glad your LH is feeling better.  Glad Midsommar!
