  • I am an elderly, intermediate piano player and have aspirations for Chopin Etude 10. No. 1.  Smooth, fast scales I think are my weakest area and I think would help me towards my goal.  I do practice arpeggios as well.  Looking forward to finding new ways to practice reaching for the moon!

  • I've spent the last 10 years doing a scale routine my teacher uses, and I feel it's gotten stale and less effective as time goes on - though a lot of it fits well with the advice given in yesterday's livestream on scales. I'm interested in guidance on how to structure scale practice (how many scales to practice each day? how much time to spend? etc.).

Hi Dominic, do you use ForScore to organize your digital music? Were you able to purchase a digital version of the Alfred’s scale book?  If not, can you discuss your process for digitizing hard copy editions?  Love all your webcasts.  Thanks!

I'd love any suggestions for pieces that help me develop my left hand techniques. e.g. Chopin Op 10. No. 2 is great for right hand chromatic scales in 3-4-5, and Op. 10 No. 5 and 8 are great for right hand, and the only one I know of for left hand is Op.10 No. 12

I notice that when I practice scales, my left hand tires out more easily and struggles to keep up with my right hand. I'm not sure if it's because I'm trying to articulate in my left hand too much,  (feels a little like muscle soreness) but practicing scales all the time can get boring, so I'd love to get suggestions for more pieces that helps with left hand.
