Here's this charming little Landler, A section only, full of fun, joy, and a dash of elegance.

B section is a work in progress which I couldn't spend as much time on since it taxed my recovering finger quite a bit more than the A section.

Michelle R Very charming melody and playing! I also love how you focus before you start (I need to do that more).

Hazel Derek McConville Thanks so much, guys.

Vidhya Bashyam Thanks, Vidhya. I have a "pre-shot" routine (my teacher plays golf) that I go through before I start playing to include breathing, feeling centered, and imagining the sound I want to come from the instrument. It's remarkably helpful!

Vidhya Bashyam We started with trying different things to see what helped; at first it was close to a minute but has gotten much quicker with practice. I imagine you would want to personalize yours, too!

great playing, Michelle! You pay close attention to all the details in touch and phrasing, and that makes it so musical and nice to listen to.

Hi Michelle, sorry I was late & missed your 30 seconds of fame on the day of the Watch Party, but I'm happy to be able to catch your performance here.  I enjoyed your playing here a lot, and can clearly see ongoing progress in the pieces you are undertaking. Here is the cheerful Schubert of the Trout Quintet, rather than the moody, unsettled soul revealed in so many of the other pieces performed for the challenge. I'm looking forward to hearing your Burgmuller (sp.?) soon. As I've said before, it won't be long before you are going to have to shed the label "Beginning" pianist!

Thurmond R well, if it wasn't for the surroundings on the video, I would think I'm in a concert hall...wonderful! Thank you.

Hi everyone, please see my submission for the Tonebase Schubert challenge below. I didn't get to memorise it this time unfortunately and a few parts to tidy up but will have to return to this at a later point. All the best - Derek
