Here is my week 4 video of Kupelwieser Waltz.  I think it is a tad improved though still far from performance quality.  I will continue to work on the entire piece and hopefully perform later this fall.  Thanks for listening.

Here is my video of the Impromptu Op 90 No3.  I feel it has certainly progressed over this challenge and I now have a better understanding of the structure and balance required in this piece,  although I think it still needs work especially on keeping then inner voice smooth and under control especially at the more dramatic moments and transitions and conveying the different moods. I tried writing in the emotions of the different sections like “fear, anger, hope, faith, acceptance and peace” etc and that has helped I think. I’ve really enjoyed listening to everyones submissions and the support and comments from everybody.

Hazel Lovely. Such a wonderful maturity to this piece - nothing feels rushed or cut short, but you allowed everything to bloom with the proper timing.

Thanks, your recording of the Waltz is lovely too. You really bring out the singing melody well and it has a nice lilting quality.

I wanted to try and catch again some baby grand or real grand, but this time it wasn’t possible. Also, life got a bit in the way too (as people waited patiently that I finally find some time and go out a bit after all the practice for the audition in parallel with work), so I guess my best “performance ” I did in this period would be the one from audition from last week. Hopefully in some next challenge I will be able to do more.

I enjoyed the process very much - it helped me with preparations, as I literally had 3 weeks to pull the sonata out from the dust, bring it back to memory, solve some technical issues and phrasing, and increase the tempo. In parallel with other repertoire and work. Nothing to feel sorry about - having in mind all the circumstances, I did all I could possibly do. 🙂
